You Deserve to Be Happy

Many people do not think that they deserve to be happy because of the bad things that happened in the past, and it must be harder to be happy when you have lost meaning in life. I know how it feels because I have been there before. I lost my direction in life and I did not know where I was going. I didn't know what I want, and I was confused and none of what is going on around me made sense. 

My father died unexpectedly and I couldn't accept it for a long time because he was a good man, a good father and a good husband to my mother and there are many bad people around who doesn't deserve to live. I was depressed for a long time and felt that I don't deserve to be happy because every bit of enjoyment made me guilty because I felt like I was betraying him and his death. I was afraid that if the pain goes away I would lose him forever. When I finally accepted his death and forgave myself for moving on, I realized that he is never really gone because his memory will always be in my heart.

Everyone deserves to be happy because we were born to enjoy God's creation. We were not brought to life so that we will suffer. Bad things happen though even to good people because we are not in control of other people's mind and actions but we have the power to be happy if we know how to use the power of our mind to change our present circumstance. If you lose a loved one, grieve and accept it because it's the reality of life, but deal with it as soon as you can and move one. 

If you have a medical condition and it makes you unhappy, change your awareness and think about all the things that will make you happy so that you will attract positive impulses and improve your health. If you can't think of anything that made you unhappy, forgive yourself and forgive those who hurt you and made you miserable to lighten your burden and you will see that it will work wonders because you will feel good, happy, and heal yourself.

Sometimes it feels like the whole world is picking on you or you get upset when things don't turn out the way you expected them to be. If you feel that way, fight back and do not let it affect you. Shift your awareness and think about all the good things you can be grateful for like your loving family, friends, job, or comfortable life and it will manifest in your reality. Happiness is not about getting what you want; it's about being content with what you already have and being grateful to the things that matters to you most.

Love and pamper yourself to a massage, spa, or sauna and do fun things even if you are alone like going to the gym, watching movies on DVD, going shopping, or going on vacation. Happiness is a state of mind and it starts with being grateful. It is a choice and not a chance. You can choose to be happy with what you have if you believe this is what you truly desire and this is what's best for you.
